Living room has been a popular area of the home to install a TV. TV storage space in the living room has been a very specific task lately. Living room TV furniture is of many types in terms of styles and usage, Different type of TV furniture is suitable for different TV sets as well as for different living room decor. There is a lot of variety in designer living room TV furniture in terms of style variations and design availability. Apart from the designer TV furniture, some traditional living room TV units are swivel TV stand, TV cabinet, TV corner unit and wall units, TV trolleys and a few others. All of these serve different purposes as per the situation. Let's understand each of these in a little more detail.

TV Cabinets

TV cabinets are proper storage cabinets, wherein a complete TV is put into the cabinet. The cabinet doors can be shut when the TV is not in use. TV cabinets were a rag ea few decades ago. But off late, with plasma and LCD TVs coming into the picture, the trend of TV cabinets has died down. But then the TV cabinet manufacturers revived them with the a breakthrough living room TV unit that was tailor made of plasma screens.

TV Stands

TV stands have been an integral part of the living room TV furniture. They are traditional TV storage style furniture, that was and is available in multitude of forms as per the usage. Design wise, there is absolutely no end to the creativity of the manufacturers of TV stands. But utility wise there are some standard styles, that are then experimented with. For example a swivel TV stand is a small, standee TV trolley that supports itself on its own. Usually it also has some little space to accommodate a few TV add on like CD & DVD players, home theater system accessories, etc. Swivel TV stands are usually made of metals other than wood as it needs to be light weight for easy movement. A lot of creative and utility-minded designs are available in swivel TV stands. Again seeing the popularity of plasma TVs, plasma TV stands are also being customized for different sizes in TVs.

TV Trolleys

Conceptually TV trolleys are a thing of the past. TV trolleys were usually wooden or metal made TV like TV trolley tables that were sturdy and movable. They could be easily moved from one room to another. Still such TV trolleys can be seen and are used by many. But with Plasma screens, they wont be around for long.

TV Wall Units

TV wall units are in vogue. Though they are not really a furniture component but they are for sure very useful as stylish storage furniture in the living room.
